Family and Carer Mental Health program

Broken Hill – Dubbo – Orange.

This program provides support for family and carers of people suffering from mental illness and aims to ensure that:

  • The families and carers of people with a mental illness have access to appropriate information and options for support at all points within their caring journey, at the time they need it.
  • Information and support is delivered in a sensitive, evidence-based, and cost-effective manner.

The program is delivered in partnership between area health services and Non Government Organisations (NGO) and between the NSW and Australian Governments.

CatholicCare works in collaboration with the area mental health services and the Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol Office, and will involve and support other NGOs and community groups, families and carers and consumers within the jurisdiction of the area serviced by Greater Western Area Health Service to deliver these support services.
