Funded by the Department of Social Services and NSW Fair Trading, the Financial Counselling service is primarily accessible by families and individuals experiencing financial hardship and can support those effected by problem gambling.
Financial Counsellors offer support with advocacy, negotiations, options, information and referrals and personal budgeting. Individuals are supported in making informed decisions to resolve their financial issues by accessing information specific to their circumstances. This program aims to empower individuals to gain an understanding and take control of their financial position.
CatholicCare’s Financial Counsellors deliver community education to improve financial literacy within our communities and to raise awareness around problem gambling issues.
The service aspires to increase consumer knowledge and confidence in the management of personal finances and develop financial skills with in communities for the ongoing future management of financial affairs.
